PREORDER CAMPAIGNS
WHAT IS A PREORDER CAMPAIGN?
A preorder campaign is a collaboration between an author and Oasis Books to promote and sell an author's upcoming release.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
- First, you decide that you would like to collaborate with Oasis Books!
- You can choose to either fill out the Preorder Campaign Inquiry Form, or you can send an email with all relevant information (noted below) regarding your book.
- Once you have submitted all necessary information, I will review the inquiry to see if working together will be a good fit for both parties.
- A listing and graphics will be created on the Oasis Books Website. These graphics will be shared with you (via email) so that you can use them in your own promotions, if you choose. For an idea of what these graphics might look like, you can view all current preorders here.
- Around a week before the Campaign is over, I will reach out with a count of how many preorders have been made:
- You receive your wholesale payment or 60% (will be discussed prior to campaign start) for each signed copy sold through Oasis Books
- I'll also add on a couple of copies to stock in the store, on the chance that someone orders last minute
- You order your author copies
- Sign them and add any included incentives
- You ship everything to me
- I'll package the individual orders and ship them to readers
INCENTIVES
Incentives are definitely not required, but readers love them! It gives them another reason to want to preorder your book! The most common incentives are art prints, bookmarks, and stickers, but they can range from any of those things to apparel, drinkware, candles, or more! If you have anything different or specific in mind, let’s chat about it and see what we can make happen!
PRICING
You set your wholesale prices. Make sure that you're including the prices for any included incentives!
EXCLUSIVITY
I do not require that Oasis Books be the only place that you host signed preorders.
However, if Oasis Books is the exclusive store for your preorder, please let me know!
WHAT INFORMATION TO SUBMIT
There are 2 ways to inquire about a preorder campaign.
First is filling out the Preorder Campaign Inquiry Form.
If you're not one for filling out forms, you can send an email to preorders@oasisbooksga.com with the subject line [YOUR BOOK TITLE] Preorder Campaign Inquiry. Make sure the following required information is included in the email:
- Book Title
- ISBN
- Publication Date & if you would like the campaign to start or end on any specific dates
- Suggested Retail Pricing
- Wholesale Price
- How can books best be obtained (direct from you, through Ingram, through a Publisher, other)
- Genre/Subgenre(s)
- Tropes/Microtropes
- Synopsis/Blurb
- Tagline
- List of Tropes
- List of Content Warnings
- Will the books be:
- Hand Signed
- Digitally Signed
- Stamped
- Signed Bookplate
- Intended Incentives, as well as high quality images of them
The following information is not required, but can help tremendously in promoting your book, if you have them available:
- Book Tagline
- Specific Character Quotes from the book
- Specific Passages from the book
- Songs that give off the vibe of the book; or, a curated playlist
Make sure to also attach high quality images of your book cover and any intended incentives.
