This was a quick, cute Christmas second chance romance. I actually read the whole thing over the course of 10 hours (but the majority of it within 5 hours) while I was between calls at work.

Holly is an older sister, who owns her own bakery. Holly is used to taking care of everyone and doesn't like handing over control. She tends to work herself too hard, and doesn't realize until the last minute that she needs help. Caleb is Holly's best friend's older brother. He's a professional hockey player who is laying low after his contract with his team is terminated. The two had a summer fling years ago that neither of them ever got over.

Right off the bat, I loved Caleb. Although it sucks that being a real man got him kicked off of his previous team, given current events around the real NHL, it's safe to say he'd be one of the good guys.

For being such a quick, straightforward read, I really enjoyed this story. There wasn't a lot of extra fluff involved that didn't add to the story. There is some spice, but not a ridiculous amount that takes away from the storyline. While Caleb is a hockey player, there is really only one true in-game hockey scene in the book. The majority of the book takes place If you're looking to be more immersed in the game, this book isn't it.
